List December #10

Top Ten Things I Hate About Flying:

10. Paying to check a bag.

9. The pilot informing you from which direction and how hard the wind is blowing at your destination.

8. When the gate agent asks everyone to remain seated until their row has not been called but instead everyone does the exact opposite.

7. When you're seated next to Talky Talkerson.

6. People taking up overhead cargo space with their jacket and then getting angry when you place your bag on top of it.

5. The cups they serve you 1/4 of a can of soda in.

4. When the person in front of you takes advantage of their option to recline.

3. Sitting in the middle seat.

2. Having a television in the back of the seat but yours is broken (or watching a sporting event but having it disappear every time the flight attendant speaks on the intercom)

1. Sitting next to someone who "spills" into your seat.

You forgot #1. Parents with screaming kids sitting directly behind you that do nothing to control them.

I have two, both of which happened to me in 2008:
#1 - When they interrupt movies in progress to give you the weather report, and instead of pausing the movies they just talk over them so you have NO IDEA what just happened.
#2 - When they show movies that are longer than the amount of available time, so you spend an hour and 40 minutes getting into it, and then miss the last 20 minutes because it's time to "prepare for landing."

What about airport security? Or the attitudes of people who work in the airport? Or stewardesses that are really strict? They are the worst. Ah, I love List December.

yeah, sometimes airport security can be frustrating. in philadelphia last month, at 6 in the morning the guy running the baggage scanner belt thing wouldn't stop it so all of the bins got squeezed together and once someone tried to pull one out everyone's stuff got thrown on the floor. that was pretty awesome. friendly chap.

I mis-spelled!

Here it is again: I was once on an overseas flight and the family behind me didn't speak english...except for their young child who was kicking my seat for most of the many-hour flight. So frustrating.

I just flew to MD---and will never know what happens to the Traveling Pants as they cut it off at the last 10 minutesa and respect myself to much to ever rent it....
