Junk the Junk.

Words I Hate.

Video Games, Not Eternal Damnation.

the last one is my personal favorite. man, he's funny. yes, it's vulgar in places but you have to admit that its funny.

The Perfect Rum Runner

Tonight I started my quest for the perfect rum runner. I really enjoy drinks with rum, it's really the only kind of hard liquor I enjoy. I've had the priveledge of trying some nice rums from around the Caribbean. Most recently I brought back a bunch of Bounty which is rum from St. Lucia that we picked up from the local market in Castries one hot Saturday. Anyway, i've been checking out difference recipes and this is the one I made tonight.

• 1 1/2 oz Malibu rum
• ¾ oz Dark Rum
• 1 oz Blackberry brandy
• 3-4 oz Orange juice
• 3-4 oz Pineapple juice
• 3-4 oz Cranberry juice

I'm pretty happy with this mix but i need to experiment a little. I did three oz of each of the juices and I think i will probably lower the amount of the Cranberry Juice next time. I'm still trying for the perfect mix but I have a good start. Kelli and I have also been coming home to a Pineapple Juice and Koko-Nut Rum drink after work. It's simple but it's hard to beat. Very sweet, very good tasting for those who really don't like the taste of hard liquor. Man, this post makes me sound like an alcoholic but I have really just gotten interested in bartending and drink mixes. It's very interesting to me. I think it would be a blast to be a bartender, especially at a good beer bar. Can't be a place that has Dogfishhead IPA, Young's Oatmeal Stout, and Belhaven Scottish Ale in one place. Whenever that happens, I know that I will be a regular.

Death Cab For Cutie

I got an advanced release of the new DCFC CD and do not have much to say about it yet besides the fact that I like the CD and of course everyone's fear was how their music would change by going to a major record label. I would say that this has had no impact on their sound or Ben's songwriting at all. The songwriting is very creative and expresses his thoughts profoundly as always. They use an acoustic guitar more on this record than the last and seems a little more mellow but that might be because i've only heard it a few times. I'm not really sure yet. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT IT'S GREAT! More details to come.

Frogger

Yesterday when i left my apartment I was greeted by this bright green friend. He was very bright as you can see if you click on the picture and open it. The funny thing is that it stayed there all day long. It was there from morning until evening and looked like it was sleeping half of the time. You could get as close to it as you wanted but it wouldn't budge. Unfortunately he was gone this morning when we woke up. I'm going to miss that little guy.

yuck

Back of Car

My friends got inspired.

Front of Car

I would like to take a second and thank Nick Plassman for his creativity here. Yes, that is the windshield. Try pulling this up in front of the Don Cesar (really nice hotel), it was a bit embarrassing.

More Friends

Kurt, Heidi, Kelli and I with a Leatherback Turtle.

Kurt and Dustin

Kurt lived real close to me, we drank beer together (until he gave it up), watched the OC everyweek, and were a part of the same church.

NYC Boys

These are my boys from NYC. I'm going to miss these guys a lot!

Anse Chastanet

There's the front of our room. The bedroom is in back behind a mosquito net.

View from the Anse Chastanet

Our room looked directly at the Piton Mountains. Nope, there's no screen there, it's all open baby.

Anse Chastanet Beach

Back From My Honeymoon

Well, i made it back and I must say that the Island of St. Lucia is beautiful indeed. I will be posting pictures after my computer is fixed. My Dell laptop decided that the motherboard was no longer important so it ate it or something. Piece of junk. DON'T GET A DELL. Anyway, the Anse Chastanet was an amazing resort, it only has three walls meaning that it is an open air room. It was very hot obviously but the view was incredible and birds were just sitting around chillin with you and trying to eat your food. It was endearing. The room looked right out over the Piton mountains, couldn't have been better. The food was some of the best i've ever tasted. The snorkeling was amazing as well. We were right by a marine reserve and quite a bit of coral so there were tropical fish galore and they really seemed to love people. Everytime you would submerge you would realize that you were surrounded by fish just looking at you. That was one of my favorite things.

The Sandals resort on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment. It looked nice but it was more white trash spring break party than a classy resort. The food was mediocre, had no flavor and every restaurant featured almost the exact same menu. The bartenders (minus a few) were very unfriendly and it just seemed very "corporate America". For instance at the main pool you could hear the likes of Brittany Spears blasting and also get your share of "My Milkshake Brings All The Boys To The Yard." I certainly don't go to St. Lucia to listen to bad American music i would never bring myself to listen to here. I will definitely never go back to a Sandals but I would recommend St. Lucia, it is one of the more lush, beautiful islands of the Caribbean. If you want more than just a few nice beaches, this is the island to go to. Also, make sure you do the helicopter ride, it's a rush. And yes, for those who want to know, i feel like more of a man today then I did a few weeks ago.
