10. Bruce Bowen
-Spurs fans call him scrappy, but let's just call him what he is: the dirtiest player in the NBA.
9. A. J. Pierzynski
-There are not many players in the league who haven't wanted to punch him in the face (a few have gotten the opportunity). He's an agitator by nature. No possible way to like him.
8. Ray Lewis
-This one may have to do with the whole (alleged) murder thing.
7. Manny Ramirez
-He's a total nutcase and hard to like, but I'd take him on the Cubs any day.
6. Brett Favre
-I retire, nope I'm back, I retire, nope I'm back, I retire, no wait, I'll play for the division rival.
5. Kobe Bryant
-Great player, but unlike Lebron, he's completely unlikeable unless you're a die hard Lakers fan. Arrogant, smug, whiny, everything you love to hate in an athlete.
4. Michael Vick
-No real need to give an explanation here. The hatred will probably die down however over time.
3. Alex Rodriguez
(and the entire Yankees organization)
-Epitomizes what everyone hates about the Yankees. Absurdly excessive salary, steroid user, and womanizer.
2. Tom Brady/Bill Belichick
-We'll just throw these two together. They make good company. Where do we start with these two? Can't think of anything close to like-able about either.
1. Terrell Owens
-It's sad when your own teammates hate you. The difference between T.O. and the others on this list is that for the others, there was a time (even if it was brief) where they were like-able or you felt like you should at least give them the benefit of the doubt. But T.O. has been stirring up hatred from the beginning.
Desperately trying to make the list:
Tiger Woods
The Birdman
Trevor Ariza
Jay Cutler

love this list dusty. i would change the order though. kobe needs to be #1. EVERYONE hates him outside of the LA metro area. but keep brady and belicheck #2. i was a little iffy on michael vick. i mean, the guy was very contrite, served 2 years in prison, and said and did all the right things after-and he wasn't a jerk before it either. i'm not condoning his actions-but he was unfairly punished-did his punishment fit his crime? IMO-no. ray lewis-killed a man and got off free and clean. take off vick and put on OJ. another iffy one-cutler. i know bears/broncos fans can hate him but the rest of the country he is just not important enough to hate. but otherwise-awesome list!
good thoughts Jay. You're probably right about Vick. I don't personally have strong feelings against him. I actually root for him when he comes in. Glad to see him back in football. I think I put him on the list more from all of the crap he's gotten from the general public over the last year as he's been trying to make his comeback. There's still a lot of strong feeling against him. I'm guessing though in a year or two people will have moved past it.
Cmon. The birdman? He's a great redemption story, and is a goofy lookin' white guy who will come off the bench for the rest of his career and will be loved for it.
/realizes that he has a weird transplant-homer bias for most Denver teams.
I would add Lebron to this list. Brother didn't let the video of him getting dunked on this summer out. lame.
#1 Bron Bron. Kobe is more likable because he doesn't have a sense of entitlement to go with no team accomplishments.
I protest Ray Lewis being on this list....
One of the greatest linebackers... and he play in my hometown. Alleged indiscretions shouldn't count against him. You could have swapped him out with Tiger...
LOL, oh my goodness Dust I seriously loved this!! I would vote Kobe #1, can't agree with Jay Lyons. Hate him, can't stand him, neither can anyone else that's not an LA fan. I could also argue with Tiger Woods. I personally used to think he was great...now he is great...at getting in the sack with 100's of other women besides his wife. Lock him up and cut off his wingey...yes, his male reproductive wingey!...Josh Carr
