It's a beautiful thing

Alas, good has defeated evil.

Unfortunately, evil walked out a second too early (which doesn't surprise me at all .) As unclassy as it gets, but I expected no less.

Overall, it was an incredible game, one of the best Superbowls (minus the lame commercials) I've ever seen. I still can't believe Eli's final drive. It was like it was destiny (come on, how do you catch the ball on your head?). But all in all, the Giants defense won the game, they looked unfazed by the Patriots offense and kept pressure on Brady all night long. I haven't seen him get crushed like that all year. Another beautiful sight.

If you would have asked me at the beginning of the year who would win the Superbowl I might have picked the Dolphins over the Giants! Truly a shocker, but a great season of football.

i'm happy for eli. funny how the giants fans wanted his head a couple months ago.

and belichick...he is the epitome of class. and rodney harrison i might add. i don't think there is a more hated player in sports.

the irony of being 18-1 is beautiful thing. i honestly haven't been this happy watching a sporting event in a long time (you don't get many happy moments when you root for the mariners and the seahawks)...nor have a lost my voice as quick as i did tonight.

i am going to bask in this superbowl glory for a long time.

amen brother, such an incredible game. That final Giant's touchdown was perfect.

Oh my, what a game! You are right, Eli's last drive was magnificent! Just when I expected him to crack under the pressure and throw an interception, he completed some amazing throws that made me scream so loud, I scared my son and sent him into a serious crying fit! All in all, an one of the best Super Bowl games I can remember watching- and you're right, those commercial were horrible.

Eli was amazing that drive, but the story could have just as easily been "Eli picked". He hit Asante Samuel an all pro in the hands and he dropped it. The game could have and should have been over at that point. He really got very lucky.

Great Super Bowl. I hate Boston and their fans, but I hate the 72' Dolphins almost as much if not more. I'm so tired of Mercury Morris and his crew popping Champagne when the last team loses. They're more classless than Belichick will ever be. He shook Coughlin's hand. As far as he was concerned the game was over. What was he supposed to do, shake his hand again? Seriously, I'm asking. What would you have him do?

he knew there was time left on the clock, the three guys around him were trying to pull him back, but he didn't care, he just wanted to get off the field because he lost. So I guess I would have him stay on the field until the game was actually over, he knows the rules. What he did was bad sportsmanship, not to mention just bad leadership to his team. He doesn't know how to lose well. He should have been getting his defense out on the field for the final play, but instead he ran to the tunnel like a baby. So I guess I would have him act like an actual coach.

I completely agree with you, Dustin, and also believe that "spygate" is much bigger and spans many more years and games. I'd love to hear more from their former video assistant, Matt Walsh, who was interviewed in the article you linked to in your last post. That was an interesting article/interview. Did it seem to anyone else that his last quote was kind of saying he's spill the beans for the right price??

yes, belichick probably thought the game was over. as did his players when they walked off the field with him. but the players had to go back on the field for the final play. belichick made the conscious decision NOT to go back out on the field with his players. what he did was absolutely classless. he pouted like a child because when it comes to losing, and winning for that matter, he has the mentality of child.

yes, he should shake coughlin's hand again. or shake hands with just ONE giants player. or show support and solidarity with this team. or represent the league, the patriots or himself with a bit of respect. but he did none of that. because he is bad sport. and if he didn't cheat...he'd probably be a bad coach, too.

I've never been a Belichick fan, but I must admit I wanted the Pats to win. Sorry, but a too-cocky Manning snubbed my Chargers a few years ago, and that takes a while to forget! Yes, I eventually grew to have a great deal of respect for a couple other big-headed rookies: John Elway and Junior Seau. (Speaking of which, I really would have liked to see Seau get the Ring.) But Manning isn't there yet in my book. Though he - and the rest of the Giants - did an incredible job of shutting down arguably the best team in the league this year. As for Belly-ache-chick...maybe if he'd wear something other than that stupid cut-off sweat shirt I could give him just a little more respect. But after walking off the field, maybe not.
