Strawberry Picking

We went to Sauvie Island Farms today to pick some strawberries. As you can see, we got a little carried away! We ended up with 17 pounds of Hood strawberries! Yikes.

We stopped by Kruger Farms afterwards because they were having a big BBQ today. We ate some delicious fresh strawberry shortcake and then came home to see Carlos Zambrano blow a no-hitter in the 8th.

There is a huge difference between Florida strawberries and Oregon strawberries. The ones in Florida tended to be kind of sour and always needed suger. The Oregon ones are so freaking sweet that you can't add sugar! They're awesome!

Hey, stop knocking our strawberries. How can you possibly top Plant City strawberries?! All the rain in the NW must have already driven you crazy. Seriously, we miss having you and Kelli around.

hahaha, it's not that I'm knocking Florida strawberries! I will admit that they are larger and not as soggy as NW strawberries. But they are very good.

But yeah, Plant city was great. The strawberry milk shakes, the strawberry shortcake, etc. is hard to beat!

we miss you guys too.

A couple other questions - As a Cubs fan, have you already started using the words "next year" in conversations about baseball? Also, I never did congratulate you on on the Blazers getting the top pick. (must have been because I could care less about the NBA) Since the hometown got it, would you rather see Oden or Durant??

as far as the Cubs go, yes. I think next year they will have a great shot! hahaha.

I think I would rather have Oden, but it's a tough call. I read that Durant had a pretty poor showing at the NBA workout. I think overall both of those guys can be extremely lazy. It was like Oden didn't even care in the NCAA Tournament. He was just like, "can we get this done so i can get a huge contract?"

However I think Oden would bring a little more excitement to Portland. I would imagine they will pick him. Unfortunately I'm sure ticket prices will rise with the coming of either of those guys! I'm glad it will improve the team but I love the 10 dollar tickets! what do you think?

Oden seems like a lock at this point. His workouts have been amazing. Chad Ford of ESPN (who's been pimping Durant as the better player since the college season ended) saw Oden's workout and came away in awe.

He said he did everything right. He was way more athletic than he thought he was going to be. He did every ball handling drill that Mike Conley Jr did, and he did them just as well. He was obviously not as quick, but that's amazing for a legit 7 footer.

Oden is going to be really special.
