Not even beloved Wrigley Field's name. Now, it's not that there's anything special about "Wrigley", it's that it's been named that for so long, and everyone loves going to "Wrigley" Field.
But apparently the owner of the Cubs couldn't care less as
you can see here as he is considering selling the naming rights to the field. Great, another Petco or Safeco Field. Or maybe we should just cut to the chase and name it Playtex Park or Walmart Stadium. Gene has a few other
ideas here. Frick.

Maybe if they can get the makers of juicy fruit to sponsor the stadium every one wins...
except for the cubs.
I believe it already IS named after the chewing gum industrialist. So it was named after the biggest money back then...why complain when it is going to the highest bidder 80 some years later.
it's not about it not being named after big business, it's about tradition anon.
it is about tradition. Ha. A tradition of losing.
Change the name. Wrigley has not exactly been kind to your team. Maybe another name will bring luck.
On the other hand. Keep the name Wrigley. It has worked out for all of us that hate the Cubs for 100 Glorious Years.
If my team could not win a a stadium I would blow it up and start over with a new name (maybe a new city).
GO CARDS!
i'm going to ignore that Rick.
