Portland Beavers

Opening night for the Portland Beavers.

Will I be there? Absolutely!

Have I heard of one person on the team? Not a chance.

But, the important thing is, it's baseball, it's the start of the minor league season, and it's going to be beautiful weather.

2B Matt Antonelli can play some ball. LF Chase Headley is a STUD! He's going to rake in AAA for the month or two he's there.

Marshall McDougall is a decent ball player. He set the NCAA record for homeruns and RBI's in a game while playing for FSU. He was 7-7 with 6 homeruns and 16 RBI's!! Absurdity!

P Wade LeBlanc is going to be a big leaguer. He's pretty decent.

Then they've got some oldschool guys like Shawn Estes, who pitched for the Giants in the mid-late 90's.

Dirk Hayhurst isn't any good, but he's got a cool name and is a pretty good writer:

Now you know something about the Portland Beavers and a couple players!

Apparently that link is too long to paste onto this page. It'll work if you paste /264668.html onto the end of it.

Anyway, you might not care, but I thought the story was great. It's a very honest story about how he and his teammates tried to blow off a women with a young child who wanted their autographs. Turns out the boy has terminal liver cancer.
